Permanent Disability Means:

Medically certified total disability of the insured as a result of sickness or injury which is irremediable or incurable by any procedure or treatment and which in the opinion of Santam renders the insured permanently unable to pursue the occupation in which the insured was gainfully employed immediately prior to the onset of such disability or any similar occupation for which the insured is qualified in terms of his/her education, training, experience and status.
